Equal Plates Create Equal Opportunities
Food inequality is one of the most pervasive barriers to equal opportunity. When children and families face hunger, their ability to focus, learn, and thrive is severely compromised.
Our Equal Plates program ensures that nutritious meals reach underserved communities consistently, removing one of the most fundamental obstacles to a level playing field.
Our Approach
Equal Plates operates on the principle that food is a right, not a privilege. We work alongside local governments, NGOs, and grassroots organisations to map food deserts, identify vulnerable households, and deploy targeted meal distribution strategies that are both efficient and dignified.
- Meal distribution hubs placed within a 1-mile radius of every underserved neighbourhood we serve
- Fresh produce boxes delivered bi-weekly to elderly and disabled residents
- Cooking skills workshops empowering families to prepare nutritious meals on limited budgets
- Collaboration with local restaurants and food businesses to reduce waste and redirect surplus food
The Inequality We Are Fighting
In many cities, families in low-income neighbourhoods spend up to 35% of their income on food, yet still consume fewer nutrients than wealthier households. Children growing up in food-insecure homes are twice as likely to repeat a grade and three times more likely to have health problems. Equal Plates directly disrupts this cycle.
